Have you ever tracked down any of your old high school friends and fellow students?
Submitted by campsite2007.
Isn't that what MySpace is all about? Seriously. I have about 15 old high school classmates on that list. I don't do too much "tracking down," though. That seems a bit intense.
I started talking to my best friend from high school again a little over a year ago through comments on LiveJournal. We actually reconnected and picked up our friendship again. It was refreshing. Ahhh, the internetsss.
How well does your name Google? Who are you up against? (Celebrities, etc.)
Submitted by Matt Blank.
Well, when I first Googled my name, about a year ago, I got a tombstone of a woman with my exact first and last name. Today I Googled and was relieved not to find the same image. Instead I found another tombstone. Lovely.
As far as celebrities, Maggie Gyllenhaal is the only one that came up. The rest of the links were random blogs and one wedding gown designer. Exciting.
What's that secret dream job you've always believed you'd be good at, but never gone for?
Submitted by wedgeh.
Interior Designer. Unfortunately I hated college and the idea of going back makes me want to hurt someone. I've been kicking around the idea for a year or two, though. It may actually be something I end up doing. Eventually. Part of me wants to believe I'd enjoy art school. The other part hates that the closest art school is two hours away!

Those are my dailies. My weeklies are a bit more shopping oriented - like NY&Co, Bluefly, Endless.com, Amazon, Target...
If you could pick a cartoon world to live in, which would it be? Why?

What is your home decorating style, and how has it changed over time? Do you have plans to redecorate?
Submitted by enSue.
I picked an amazing time to get back on Vox, I can see. This is a fabulous QotD. I love it!
First let me say that my decorating style is classic. Think Pottery Barn...except in my bedroom. In my bedroom, think Shabby Chic. I like what I like and it doesn't always fit in with the room that I'm decorating. I try to edit myself and haven't made an impulse eclectic purchase in a while.
When I moved out of my parents' house, seven and a half years ago, I decorated my bedroom in yellow and blue. It was very country and I grew out of it in just a few short years. The only things that remain from that decorating phase are the nightstands. Hubby-man bought them for me when I was pregnant with one of the kids and I still love them, even though they're the only yellow in the entire room. The room, though, is a work in progress. I have a sketchpad that I use to draw out the ideas I have. The dresser wall (not pictured) has big changes planned for 2008.
Seven and a half years ago I also thought it was a good idea to
decorate the kitchen in cobalt blue, lime, and chrome. The addition of
hokey fish accessories really tied the theme together. It was cute for
a college kid, but when I settled into the family role I knew it had to
change. About four years ago I bought all new accessories and turned
my theme into "Tuscan Kitchen."
Now, though, things are a-changin'. My kitchen re-do will be starting within the next month or so, whenever we all get back on our feet health-wise. It's going "French Cafe." In theory. In reality, I'm painting the cupboards, replacing the flooring, counters, and accessories, and buying a new dining table. I'm not repainting the walls or anything that dramatic, as I just painted them red about three years ago and I still love the color.
The living room will be getting a facelift, too, once the kitchen is complete. I'm replacing the flooring in front of the door with ceramic tile and replacing all the carpeting, including up the stairs and down the upstairs hallway. I recently solved the DVD storage dilemma that's plagued us for years and will implement the fix when I replace all the other furniture. I don't want to buy new bookcases that don't match the entertainment center! That'd be a tragedy.
I've also been in the process of redecorating the upstairs bathroom since January. We made much progress until our trip in March. When we got home from the trip, our personal lives fell apart, so the bathroom hasn't progressed in over a month. All it needs is trim and a shelf - almost done! I took it from the standard 80s oak and brass with ugly linoleum to very fun and "Maggie."
